Eldridge Park (Grand Central Ave., Elmira, NY) –Take Rte. 227 South to Perry City. Go straight onto Rte. 228, and follow through Mecklenburg. About 7.5 miles south of Mecklenburg, Rte. 228 makes a 90-degree turn to the right. You continue straight ahead on County Rte. 10. Follow this road about 2 mi to Rte. 224. Turn left (southeast) on Rte. 224. About 3.5 mi, at a traffic light, turn right on Rte. 13 South. (An alternate route to this point would be to take Rte. 13 South from Ithaca.) Follow Rte. 13 to Rte. 17 West. Upon entering the highway, move to the left-hand lane. At the 2nd traffic light in Horseheads (intersection of Route 17 and Grand Central Ave.), turn left onto Grand Central Ave. Follow Grand Central Ave., passing through four traffic lights (about 2.6 miles). Just after you pass Penske Trucking, turn right into Eldridge Park (there is a small park sign, but there is no street sign).
